Short version: this site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other companies. Fonts and images are served from this server.

Server logs

When you open a page, the web server records the request: a shortened form of your IP address (the last part is removed before anything is written), date and time, the page requested, the referring page if your browser sends it, and your browser's user agent. This is needed to deliver the site and to detect and investigate attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are rotated and old ones are deleted automatically after seven days.

Hosting

The site runs on a server I rent from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a German data centre. Hetzner processes data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

Light or dark mode

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

Links to other sites

Links to LinkedIn and other sites are plain links. Nothing is loaded from them until you click one; after that, their own privacy policies apply.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in Bavaria the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht.
